We do not always get to see the fruits of our labor in real-time. In fact, some of our biggest accomplishments in life happen gradually. Whether it’s obtaining an advanced degree or building a business, we have to continuously invest our time, money and energy if we are ever going to see our intended results. We may experience setbacks and roadblocks along the way. We may even decide to completely shift our plans based on our progress. Even if we do not achieve what we set out to do, we still got results. We still made progress.
The most successful people on the planet refuse to give up, even when they do not achieve their intended results. They keep plugging away. They take the knowledge and results they obtained and use it to make better informed choices moving forward. They understand how they have to keep planting seeds of opportunity and tending to their garden in order for their ideas to grow into fruition. It’s the difference between being deterred or more determined when there is nothing ready to harvest just yet.
To stick with the garden analogy, we reap what we sow. If we are not sowing, there is nothing to reap. We cannot tend to our garden if we are not always planting new crops so we can keep enjoying the fruits of…
