The past is the past. We know this. There is nothing we can do to change the past, or have “do over” days to replace the ones we are not proud of. It happened. It’s part of our life experience, whether we want to own it or not. The best we can do is learn and grow from our past. We can uncover lessons and discover growth opportunities if we are willing to be honest with ourselves and use the lessons to help fuel our future. It’s on us to create that better future, no matter what happened in the past.
We all have our blooper reels. We all have those days and moments we are not proud of. We can do our best to explain them away or forget them altogether. It still won’t change what happened. However, when we decide to use those negative experiences as a catalyst for positive change, that is when our ability to create a better future for ourselves takes shape. It’s how life works, whether it’s our personal our professional life. Otherwise we may be doomed to keep repeating those same dark days and mistakes.
Our future is not fixed. It’s determined by the choices we make today and tomorrow. It can be easy to feel like we are destined to live out our lives based on how it has gone so far, no matter what the outcome…
