Defining personal success

In what ways do you feel successful as a person? We all define personal success differently. To some people, it’s financial freedom. For others, it is family and friends. Some people define personal success as those incremental achievements that help them grow as a person. Or maybe the ultimate goal is happiness. Success can be viewed from many different aspects. Whatever it is we choose as our barometer for success, it’s our duty to go out and make it happen. We may even discover our definition of success changes over time.
When defining personal success, there are many factors to consider. What is that success being measured by? It depends on what you define as personal success. It’s not easy to quantify, even when considering wealth. If a corporate executive is unhappy with their career and marriage, are they leading a successful life? It also might not be the number of relationships we have, but the quality of those relationships. Even for people who lead a life of serving others, it might not necessarily be about the amount of people served, but how well we feel those people were treated by us.
Personal success should be unique to everyone. It should be what drives us to make the most out of this lifetime. I consider my final…
