“We have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but today is overflowing with potential.”

- Allan Lokos

Making plans for the future is important, so we have a general idea of where we are headed in life. At the same time, we have to be mindful not to spend too much time planning and not enough time doing. If we are committed to truly living life, it’s important to stay committed to making the most out of each day. I still struggle with putting in the required effort to create more opportunities for myself. A recent commitment I made to myself is that I’m going to make more out of each day.

I knew what I really needed was more accountability for myself. We are the ones responsible for our own success. If we are not disciplined enough to stay committed to our goals, it’s extremely helpful to have someone holding us accountable. Some people rely on professional support like counselors and coaches, while others turn to trusted friends, colleagues and loved ones. What I found to be helpful for me was partnering up with a friend who was committed to achieving their own personal and professional goals. We agreed to hold each other accountable, a partnership where both sides can reap the benefits of accountability.
